Master Sergeant Tracy L. Davis
Youth Mentoring Curriculum
This youth mentoring curriculum is in memory of Master Sergeant Tracy L. Davis,
an Active duty soldier who was fatally wounded in front of his home by two young men as
he returned from a community Wal-Mart shopping center. The two men wanted Tracy's Lincoln
Navigator to drive from South Carolina to Georgia to attend an Atlanta party in style.
U.S. Army Recruiters who worked with MSG Davis at the Soldier Support Institute, Fort
Jackson South Carolina initiated this life changing youth mentoring program. They believed
that had these two young men received more contact with positive role models during their
lives their perceived options would have been much different and subsequently their choices
and lives would have turned out differently.
The TLD 40 course curriculum assists parents and public school educators by providing
a unique youth mentoring and communication bridge. The TLD curriculums four day per week
after school program focuses on the Mentees abilities to complete common tasks such as
individual homework, reading assignments that increase comprehension, leadership attributes
and the use of information technology as a resource.
We hope you and those whom you come in contact with learn more about this mentoring effort
and assist in the success of the Tracy L. Davis youth mentoring Curriculum.
